Poetry and prose for quiet souls, hopeful hearts, and the stories we carry.

Liske

Her unconquerable spirit burns,
A blinding phoenix within her skin.
From the embers of dreams left broken,
Undaunted it rises, and rises again.

(To my friend, a raging flame who is as wild as she is strong)

A Heroine Reclaimed

She closed her eyes and surrendered at last to the sky as it gently wrapped midnight around her and delicately put her back among the stars.

Harbinger Dragonflies

Let’s dance beneath the night sky, love
As the stars dedicate us a tune
The universe is yours and mine, love
Let’s celebrate by the light of the moon

My future is mapped in your eyes, love
And I won’t be low when this night is through
For only when I greet the sunrise, love
Will I believe that this dream came true

(To Alexander and Sasha on their Wedding Day)

Haiku – Candle Light And Velvet

She floods his senses.

Waves of desire immerse him

As he drinks her in.

Haiku – Agony

The sky wept with her

And with the cracking lightning

Her heart broke in two.

Haiku – Broken Promises

Scarlet confessions,

Tidal truths crashing down on

His reality.

The Roaring Poet

His messages are boldly written

With blunt honesty, raw, but true

He protests against the damage done

Tales of the wronged, the violated, me, you

Calling out to the abandoned and alone

Uniting the invisible and too often unheard

He joins their inner war, draws his microphone

And voices their struggle, screaming it word for word

He withstands ignorance and falling often on deaf ears

His sound branded violent, aggressive, satanic, lewd

Standing strong, he repeats their message, sees them rise against the leers

A misjudged warrior for the chaotic liberation of the subdued.

Haiku – Captured Moment

Streaks of golden life

Whispering down through the leaves

Kissing her soft skin

Haiku – Passion

He filled my doorway

Throwing back the sheets, I grinned

And let the storm in
